Sculptor/furniture maker Roger Heitzman, has been designing and crafting custom and limited edition furnishings for over 20 years in the Santa Cruz, California area. His versatility in working a variety of materials such as wood, metal and glass has enabled him to create a wide range of innovative designs that have won national awards. His pieces offer unique visual expression that enhance and transcend their function. He has taught furniture design at the college level and as a master craftsman through Baulines Crafts Guild. His work has been on display at galleries throughout the country and photos of his work have been published in magazines such as American Craft and Fine Woodworking.

The StrataSphere is a unique kinetic sculpture built to move with the wind. It has five independent revolving elements that use copper cones to capture even gentle breezes. Its movement is similar to gyroscopes within gyroscopes as the entire sculpture takes on a random yet graceful spinning motion in the wind. Each element is independently balanced and revolves on stainless steel ball bearings for friction-free movement and a long, maintenance-free life. 26" diameter

The StrataSphere is offered in two ways:

• With a small resin base made from a polymer with an exterior grade coating resembling stone. Two screws allow for mounting to a pedestal, post or flat surface.
• Or with a tall 39" resin pedestal. The pedestal is made of a polymer resin with an exterior grade coating that resembles stone. The pedestal is hollow for ease of shipping. Once in position, fill with sand for added stability.
