Garden Artisans Helps Inner City Kids Plant Trees

Garden Artisans, an Internet garden decor company located in Annapolis, Maryland, partnered with the project known as "Trees For Life" to provide Jellybean gardening gloves to children in a tree planting project.

The garden gloves were contributed by owner, Janet Kirkpatrick, who said “Partnering with a project like this is so rewarding. Knowing that we could contribute and help support the children in this effort was very satisfying and also fits with our mission. Garden Artisans was delighted to be a part of such a worthwhile project.”

The garden gloves, known as Jellybean gloves, are perfectly sized for little hands, making it easier and more comfortable for kids to wield shovels and spades in the project. Garden Artisans is known for carrying garden products, decor and related items of the highest quality. Garden Artisans carries a wide variety of gardening gloves and tools.

The project known as "Trees For Life," is sponsored by 'We, the World,' a world-wide charitable organization that promotes 'building a global collaboration for a livable future.' Project Director Kim Iacono lead a group of children in New York City in a project to plant trees along the streets to help promote clean air and volunteerism. The first of five plantings was recently completed along the streets of New York City. There are two more planned for this spring and two in the fall.

Said Kirkpatrick, “It's nice to know that something as simple as planting a tree can offer children an opportunity to accomplish something meaningful, feel good about themselves, help the environment, and make a difference.”
