Detailed Description
FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT - MILLARD STEP STONE
Frank Lloyd Wright pioneered his "textile block" concrete-block houses in California. Wright wanted to design houses that could be built cheaply using inexpensive materials. In the 1920s Wright designed a number of houses in California using precast "textile" concrete blocks reinforced by an internal system of bars.
The first of Frank Lloyd Wright's textile block houses was constructed in the Los Angeles area in the early 1920s and is known as the La Miniatura and was built for Alice Millard in Pasadena, California.
Made from hand cast cement. Shown in tan. 12" x 12" x 2" - 15 lbs.
