Down Under Pots®

Down Under Pots, as their name suggests, were designed and invented in Australia. Your plants will flip for these most unusual terracotta pots.

When planted properly and cared for, your plants will naturally grow towards the major light source, so by growing them upside down, the plants will be forced to grow up the sides of the pot.

Each Down Under Pot® carries an attractive medallion, as shown. Each is hand made, so there are frequent variations. Exact dimensions and colors can change according to firing temperatures in the kilns. Surface finishes may develop fine crackling lines (crazing) over time. This is normal and enhances the character.

Planting Suggestions

Annuals: Annuals tend to grow faster. Lobelias, Begonias, Dianthus, Impatiens, Coleus.

Perennials: Perennials will take longer to grow, but it is well worth it. Roses, Fuchsias, Geraniums and Succulents all do well. Miniature varieties are especially adaptable.

Herbs: Herbs can also be planted in the top once the bottom plant is established. Parsley, Chives, Mint, Sage, Coriander, Rosemary, Lavender and Aloe Vera, to name a few.
