Nichols Bros. Stoneworks creates European and contemporary design reconstituted stone planters offering the durability of concrete planters with impeccable styling. All sandstone products are hand-cast using a dry mix technique.

In Europe, dry-cast stone planters have been around for centuries and have proven themselves to be a durable, attractive and high quality alternative to other materials such as terra-cotta, plastic, clay, fiberglass or concrete planters in garden and architectural ornamentation.

The nature of reconstituted stone has a number of advantages, one of which is the way that it ages much like natural stone developing a rich patina quite rapidly. Each vase is offered in limestone, pewter, creme and terra cotta.

Many customers ask whether our cast stone planters can be used as fire pits or fountains. With special arrangements, many have successfully been used as fountains. You cannot use the planters as fire pits per se. Some customers have successfully used the Essex Bowl with a natural gas line keeping the fire away from the bowl. Use of the planters as fire pits will void the guarantee.
